Casino Night Is Almost Here

Our biggest fundraiser of the year takes over Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon on Friday, March 6. Wear your best 1950s outfit and come ready for blackjack, raffle prizes, and dancing — all in support of scholarships and community service programs.

We're still selling tickets and sponsorships, and we still need basket donations. See Yami if you can put together a basket. And a big thank-you to Robin Knight, who first dreamed up this fundraiser three years ago.

Beaumont Library District Tour

Wednesday, April 8 at 10:00 AM. We'll tour the Beaumont Library and see what's happening with the construction. The library opened in 1914 and is being renovated and expanded — preserving the original Carnegie structure while growing to roughly 25,000 sq ft.

The new building will include a children's room, teen area, conference room, a community room that seats up to 100, and a garage for a brand-new bookmobile. Lunch follows at the library. Thursday's regular meeting on April 9 is canceled.

Thank you, Kelly, for arranging the tour.

New Member: Veronica Bright Butler

This May, Veronica graduates with her Associate of Science degree in Business Administration. Beyond academics, she brings a diverse and comprehensive work background to the club.

Veronica's commitment to the Rotary family spans more than 25 years. She joined the Beaumont Interact Club in 2000, then went on to become president of the Inland Empire Rotaract Club for the 2024-2025 term.

New Member: Sabrina Sepulveda

Sabrina is the proud mother of two active Interact students. Through their involvement, she developed a deep appreciation for the work the club does, and she's thrilled to contribute.

Professionally, Sabrina is an In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) caregiver with Riverside County. Her experience and compassion will be invaluable to our service projects.

President's Message

I'm looking forward to our big American Graffiti-themed fundraiser on Friday, March 6th. The games, food, raffle, and dancing should be fantastic — all in support of scholarships. Thank you to every club member who has put this event together, especially Lisa Hendrix, Yami Goldberg, Marsha Becker, Robin Knight, and Diana Mangan. Wear your fun American Graffiti outfit.

On Tuesday, March 3rd, several of us are presenting a $3,500 check to the Beaumont Police Department at City Hall. The funds came from the successful First Responders' Recognition Spaghetti Dinner and will help purchase tactical gear, complementing the gift from Rotarian Della Condon that's supporting the purchase of a new K-9 dog.

I recently attended the Southwest Rotary President Elect Leadership (PELS) training in Los Angeles, February 20th-22nd. Over 800 Rotarians attended workshops, presentations, and guest speakers. You'll hear more about my training over the next couple of months.

Matthew Pistilli and I are also working on the Peace Pole Project. The first poles will be installed at the Beaumont Library and the Albert A. Chatigny Senior Community Center. We're deferring Beaumont Unified School District installations to next year.

And finally — remember Mary Brubaker at her memorial on Friday, March 6 at 1:00 PM at Weaver Mortuary, with a reception afterwards. She will be missed.

— Doug Emery, President

Marsha Becker

Marsha officially joined our Rotary club on January 13, 2021. When asked why she became a Rotarian, her answer was both simple and profound: she grew up in a service-oriented family, and serving others is important to her. She's proud to be a Rotarian.

Marsha holds a Master of Arts and Management from the University of Redlands, and she studied at Cambridge, England, through the Institute of Economic and Political Studies. She also earned a Bachelor's in Business from the University of Phoenix and an Associate's in Merchandising from Chaffey College.

Professionally, Marsha most recently served as Manager of Wireless Services for the West Coast region at Comcast/NBC Universal. Her career includes a range of administrative and management roles that have honed her organizational skills.

Beyond her resume, Marsha is a living embodiment of "Service Above Self." She has agreed to be the Beaumont Foundation Chair beginning in July. She volunteers her time at every event — and her special talent is decorating. We can always count on her for beautiful, creative parties.
